​L'association de Mise en Valeur du Château de Coucy (AMVCC) travaille depuis 1972 à la restauration d'une tour du XIIIème siècle. Les travaux arrivant à leur terme, il fallait concevoir la couverture d'un escalier à vis pour achever l'ouvrage. Ne pouvant se référer à des archives historiques, le projet à pu adopter un langage contemporain contrastant avec l'ensemble. 

Pour cette réalisation, nous avons fait appel au savoir-faire des artisans de la ville : charpentier, couvreur, chaudronnier, électricien. La charpente est réalisée en Grisard et en Robinier qui sont des bois poussant naturellement dans la région de Thiérache.

The association for the enhancement of the Château de Coucy (AMVCC) has been working since 1972 on the restoration of a 13th century tower. It became necessary to provide a cover for the freshly renovated spiral stairway to complete and protect the project. As we were unable to work from historical archives, the project was able to adopt a contemporary language contrasting with the medieval building.

As we strongly consider local products as well as local workforce, we called for the expertise of the city's craftsmen: carpenter, roofer, boilermaker, electrician on this project. The frame is made of Grisard and Robinier, which are woods that grow naturally in the Thiérache region.
